Madalen has studied and worked in the creative industry for over 17 years. Graduating from Newport, University of Wales in 2011 with a 2:1 BA Hons in Fashion Design and swiftly moving into a career in fashion illustration, graphic design and later prop making. During this time Madalen’s work gained much attention, winning Young Designer for Britain as well as multiple engineering awards and prizes for innovation. Whilst Madalen created art continuously, developing and refining her skills since she was a child, she had largely kept her creations hidden. This changed in 2020, when disillusioned by the design industry she committed herself to focusing on her artwork. In the time since, Madalen has completed a 2 year artist residency at Powderham Castle, shown her work in dozens of exhibitions and sold her pieces worldwide. . Madalen’s creative process is an unlikely marriage between the traditional arts taught by her mother; a surgical illustrator and the cutting edge techniques and technologies learnt in her design career. From mycorrhizal relationships to pollinators and trophic cascades, Madalen’s practice explores the symbiotic relationships between the plant and animal kingdom as well as the relationship between humankind and nature.

Sam Goodwin is a printmaker and illustrator, originally from Dorset, now based in Exeter. He received an MA with Distinction in Printmaking from Arts University Plymouth, in 2025. Sam’s practice centres around relief printmaking, using an ancient process to create illustrative imagery that engages with contemporary stories and social commentary.

Hi I’m Linsey Thomas but I’m known as Linsey Lou for my crafts, as it’s what my Grandad called me when I was little! I’m a maker, crafter, designer, recycler and creator of many different crafts. I love making things and I find it very relaxing in my craft room, which is full of coloured and patterned drawers containing my lovely crafting tools and materials. I first started out making seaglass and sea pottery pendants from the unique pieces I found on the Gower beaches whilst walking my dogs. I don’t change the pieces I find in any way - just wrap them in wire and place them on a cord. From there I have developed designs to make appliqué panel tote bags of local Swansea and Gower scenes and I’m developing a range of local themed items such as mugs, coasters and water bottles using photos of my appliqué panels. You can currently find my products in Cream in Mumbles and my pendants in Quirky Beauty in Fforestfach, as well as at various craft festivals and fayres around the country throughout the year. I just love making!

Linsey Lou

I’m Linsey “Linsey Lou,” a maker, crafter and designer inspired by my Grandad’s nickname. I create sea-glass pendants from Gower finds and appliqué tote bags of Swansea and Gower scenes, plus themed mugs and gifts. My work is sold in Mumbles, Swansea, Quirky Beauty, and at craft fairs. I just love making!

I began my textile journey 20 years ago, finding my first sewing machine on a Swansea street corner. This serendipitous discovery sparked a passion that would become Miss.Chievious Gladrags. In Brighton, I spent the next decade honing my craft, experimenting with styles, and embracing antifashion. My creations found a home in their first shop, where I shared my love of sewing with the community, teaching basic skills in local social centres and the unemployment center. Fast forward another 10 years and I've performed at numerous fashion shows, participated in fundraisers, community projects, traded at festivals and craft fairs, sold my creations in many shops, hosted many textile workshops and created a fabulous community of miss.Chieviousites who are the most loyal authentic bunch of cheerleaders I could ever of dreamed of, to fly my antifashion flag. With roots in theatre and play work, I've always been drawn to creative expression and self-expression. Miss.Chievious Gladrags is my ode to individuality, body positivity, and sustainable fashion. Now, nestled on the Gower, I'm inspired by nature's beauty, myth, folklore, politics and feminism. My creations are a love letter to the weird, wonderful, and strong. Miss.Chievious Gladrags Wearable Art for the Unapologetically Free Currently based on the mystical Gower Peninsula, I'm inspired by the land's ancient magic and beauty. My creations weave together threads of myth, folklore, fantasy, anime, and cultural influences with the wild beauty of nature. I explore the balance of dark and light, embracing the wisdom of witch wound and ancestral magic. Symbols, goddesses, and feminist empowerment fuel our designs, crafting pieces that spark imagination and connection. Louise Carruthers

I am an artist from South Wales, currently studying Fine Art at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.

My practise is primarily print-based with a focus on lino printing. Im currently developing my creative style with this medium by exploring a variety of themes and experimenting with different techniques. I’m loving being able to make my spontaneous ideas come to life through the process of printing.
