Building Something Colourful: What’s Been Happening Behind the Scenes

Updated: 7 days ago

If I’m being honest, Felt Like Rainbows is going through that beautiful, chaotic, exciting phase where everything is both coming together and flying around the room at the same time. And you know what? I’m loving it.

Every day feels like a tiny step forward:sorting donations, speaking to makers, testing out packaging, planning markets, drinking too much tea, dreaming up new ideas, and occasionally talking to my craft supplies as if they’re people. (Don't pretend you don’t do it too.)

We’ve had contributors joining like bright sparks, offering their handmade goods and their enthusiasm. The energy is honestly contagious.People are giving us their time, their skills, their creativity — and I never, ever take that for granted.

We’re also sorting out how we want the shop to work:Will we store everything centrally? Will sellers post from home? How do we keep things easy and fair? How can we make sure every sale helps lift up the person who made it?

This stage is a test, and everyone involved is a bit of a guinea pig (a very cute guinea pig), helping us work out the best way to run this colourful little marketplace.

But the thing that keeps me excited — truly excited — is the community forming around us.People who want to make.People who want to share.People who want to be part of something creative.

If Felt Like Rainbows was a blanket, every person involved right now is a stitch holding the whole thing together. And it’s starting to look beautiful.

Stay tuned — markets, new products, and some incredible makers are all on the horizon. And as always, thank you for being here. 💜🌈
